Measure carefully and avoid forcing any components to prevent severe damage. For T-56 to L83-L84 Gen V GM Engine installations, use Lakewood Transmission Installation Kit #50375, which includes the correct plate and hardware, though longer transmission dowel pins are needed (not included). The spacer is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum.For LS swaps, choose the proper pilot bearing based on the shaft protrusion: Small (1.094 inches) for GM LS1 vehicles (1998-2002), Medium (1.652 inches) for LS3, LSA, LSX, and LS9 vehicles (2003-2012), or Oversize (1.705 inches) for some aftermarket crankshafts and GM crate engines. Measure the protrusion with a straight edge: if between 3/4 and 1 inch (19mm-25.4mm), use the small bearing; if between 1/4 and 3/8 inch (6.3mm-9.5mm), test fit the medium bearing. If it’s a loose fit, use the large bearing.To install, remove the old pilot bearing with a mechanical puller (avoid hydraulic methods), clean the crankshaft bore, and press the new bearing into place by driving or pressing on its outer edge only.
